1. What do you think the poem is about? and Why? * I think the poem mostly has to do with some kind of war going on because all of them are
yelling very crazy and when they say gas,gas! then that prabolly has to do with some kinda
war going on in this story,It also says that they had lost their boots and had to travel barefoot
which sounds like war...
2. What do you think some of the more striking images in the poem are and why? I think most of the striking images are when they are saying in the story like All went lame; all blind;
Drunk with fatigue; deaf even to the hoots of tired, outstripped that dropped behind. That is
what i think the most striking images are in this story/poem.
3. Write out lines that support what you think the poem is about and explain how those lines support your idea of the poem’s meaning: This poem is most likely about war beacause somthing like that is going on around them cause their is just way to much energy in them
for an example: When they scream and yell the stuff they are saying in this story. The lines that support me and shock me the most is
like the coughing like hags, knocked knees,and sladge on the hanting flares.
